Skin Care
Aloe Spray for Sunburn or Dry Skin
4 oz Aloe Vera juice 1/2 tsp Vitamin E oil 15 drops Lavender Essential Oil
Combine ingredients and pour into spritzer bottle.

Bath for Burns
1 quart boiling water 1/4 cup each ~ Comfrey leaves ~ Plaintain leaves ~ Calendula flowers 3 drops Lavender Essential Oil 1 cup Oatmeal (finely milled)
Pour boiling water over herbs. Steep for 20 minutes. Strain. Pour tea into cool bath. Stir in Lavender Oil and Oatmeal. Relax.

After Sun Oil
10 drops Lavender Essential Oil 5 drops Chamomile Essential Oil 1 drop Bergamot Essential Oil 2 drops Geranium Essential Oil
Add to:
2 oz Almond oil 2 tbl Sesame oil

After Sun Bath
4 drops Chamomile Essential Oil 3 drops Geranium Essential Oil 1 drop Peppermint Essential Oil
Dilute in:
1 tbl Jojoba oil
Add to a cool bath

Baby Powder
2 parts White Clay 2 parts Arrowroot powder 1/4 part Calendula flowers (powdered)
Mix all ingredients together well.

Foot Soak
5 drops Tea Tree Essential Oil 5 drops Sage Essential Oil 2 drops Peppermint Essential Oil
Fill a portable basin or tub with hot water. Add essential oils to water and swirl to disperse. Soak feet for at least 15 minutes.

Herbal Facial Steam
Dry to Normal Skin
2 parts Chamomile 2 Parts Roses 3 Parts Comfrey 1 Part Lavender 2 Parts Calendula
Mix all the herbs together and store in an airtight container.
To use: Bring 2-3 quarts of water to a boil. Add a large handful of herbs, cover and steep for five minutes. Remove pot from heat and remove cover carefully (hot steam can cause severe burns). Place a towel over your head letting it drape over the sides of the pan. Gently let your face steam for about 5-8 minutes. Pat dry with a soft towel.
Note: Please do not stay over the steam for the entire 5-8 minute period... In other words, Come Up For air!

Culinary Recipes
Pesto Sauce
Place 1 to 2 cups Olive oil, 3 cloves of Garlic and 1/2 cup of Pine Nuts in a blender. Blend until creamy.
Add enough chopped fresh Basil to make a thick green paste, about 2 to 3 cups. Scoop into a bowl and add about 1/2 cup of fresh-grated Parmesan cheese. Store in the fridge.
For pesto made with dried herb:
Soak 1/2 cup dried Basil in just enough water to cover it for 1/2 hour. Place 1 cup Olive oil, 1/4 to 1/2 cup Pine Nuts, Cashews or Walnuts and 3-4 cloves Garlic in a blender. Blend until smooth.
Add 1 to 1 1/2 cups fresh chopped Parsley to the mixture and blend well. Drain the Basil and add it to the blender. Adjust flavors. Place in a bowl and add about 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese.

Miscellaneous Recipes
Insect Repellent
15 drops Eucalyptus oil 15 drops Rosemary oil 30 drops Pennyroyal oil
Mix oils together well in a small glass bottle. Pour 8 ounces of distilled water into a spritzer bottle. Add 10 drops of the mixture to the water. Shake well.
Mist over skin as needed.
